Sargodha: Director Agriculture Shahid Hussain has said, cotton has been cultivated on 94 thousand 126 hectares of area in Sargodha division so far which is 52% of the set target. He said that the Punjab government has set a target of cultivating cotton on an area of ​​180,000 hectares to the four districts this year. Cotton has been cultivated on an area of ​​1,660 hectares in Sargodha, while a target of 5,000 hectares has been set. In Khushab, cotton has been cultivated on an area of ​​1,441 hectares and a target of 3,000 hectares has been set. Cotton cultivation will be completed on 68 thousand 750 hectares in Mianwali, the target has been set at 1 lakh 43 thousand. While in Bhakkar, cotton has been cultivated on 22 thousand 275 hectares so far and the target has been set at 29 thousand hectares. He said that officers and field staff of the Agriculture Department are going to villages to encourage farmers to grow cotton. In this regard, the series of awareness programs is also ongoing. The increase in cotton cultivation and production is a guarantee of economic stability.
