Pakistan Downs Four Afghan Drones Along Balochistan Border, ISPR Warns of Strong Response

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s military has announced that security forces successfully intercepted and destroyed four drones allegedly launched from Afghanistan after they crossed into Pakistani airspace along the Balochistan border.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the drones entered Pakistani territory on June 30 and were immediately detected by the country’s advanced air defence system. The military stated that all four unmanned aerial platforms were neutralised before they could pose any threat to civilian areas or security installations.

The ISPR described the incident as a serious violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty and accused the Afghan Taliban administration of providing support to terrorist groups operating from Afghan territory. According to the military, the alleged drone launches were part of efforts to increase tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

In its official statement, the military urged the Afghan authorities to prevent the use of their territory for activities that threaten regional peace and security. It stressed the importance of promoting peaceful coexistence and constructive engagement between neighbouring countries instead of supporting cross-border militancy.

Pakistan’s armed forces also issued a strong warning that any future attempts to violate the country’s territorial integrity would receive a swift and decisive response under Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq, reaffirming their commitment to protecting national sovereignty.

The incident comes amid growing security concerns along the western border, where Pakistan has intensified surveillance, intelligence-based operations, and border security measures to counter terrorism and illegal cross-border activities.

Military officials reiterated that Pakistan remains fully prepared to defend its airspace and borders while continuing efforts to maintain regional stability through effective security operations and diplomatic engagement.
