Mohsin Naqvi Orders Completion of Sangjani Interchange by July 31

A key infrastructure development project in Islamabad has gained momentum as Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed authorities to complete the Sangjani Interchange by July 31. The directive came during his visit to the site of the Margalla Road-Motorway extension project, where he reviewed ongoing construction work.

The Sangjani Interchange, located on GT Road, is a major component of the 2.7-kilometre extension project aimed at improving traffic flow and connectivity in the federal capital. Officials briefed the minister that the project includes a three-lane carriageway on both sides, along with a two-lane service road to support local traffic.

In addition to the main road infrastructure, the project also features two underpasses and a bridge, all designed to ensure smooth and uninterrupted traffic movement. The inclusion of these structures is expected to significantly reduce congestion and enhance travel efficiency in the area.

During his inspection, the interior minister emphasized the importance of timely completion and instructed relevant authorities to meet the July 31 deadline. His visit focused on evaluating the pace of construction and ensuring that all components of the project are progressing according to plan.

Officials highlighted that the Margalla Road-Motorway extension is a strategic initiative that will improve connectivity between key routes and facilitate easier movement for commuters. Once completed, the Sangjani Interchange is expected to play a crucial role in managing traffic on GT Road and surrounding areas.

The project reflects the government’s broader efforts to strengthen urban infrastructure and address traffic challenges in Islamabad through modern road networks and efficient planning.
