Regular newspapers will be encouraged: PIO

Principal Information Officer Tariq Mehmood Khan discussed issues faced by the media with RMA delegation

Islamabad: A delegation of Regional Metropolitan Association had a special meeting with Principal Information Officer Dr. Mahmood Khan. In the meeting, the challenges faced by the print media and their possible solutions were discussed. Referring to bringing transparency in the media, the PIO said, we are creating a mechanism in which newspapers with regular and better circulation will be given media on priority basis. Chief Editor Daily Soon Times Shah Muhammad Awan, while participating in the discussion, raised the point that unlike the provinces, there is a lack of awareness campaign in the federation. No awareness campaign has been started with reference to dengue, welfare population and elections to which the people in rural areas are not aware of. Other persons from RMA included Chaudhry Qurban, Faraz Khattak, Adnan Mubarak Awan, Sabir Farooq Malik, Malik Farrukh Abbas, Rao Muhammad Tahir, Malik Abu Bakr, Chaudhry Waheed Rasool and Malik Ijaz Khokhar in the delegation.
