CM Sohail Afridi Sets Performance Benchmarks for Ministers and Secretaries in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mohammad Sohail Afridi has announced a comprehensive performance framework for provincial ministers, advisers, special assistants, and administrative secretaries, making public satisfaction and service delivery the primary benchmarks for evaluating government performance.

Speaking at a special meeting following the approval of the provincial budget and the start of the new financial year, the chief minister directed all government departments to move into full implementation mode. He said the provincial administration must focus on delivering tangible results in line with the vision and priorities of PTI founder Imran Khan.

CM Afridi stressed that government decisions should be made through consultation while maintaining the highest standards of merit, transparency, and public interest. Reaffirming a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and inefficiency, he instructed departments to identify and eliminate opportunities for corruption in both service delivery and financial management.

The chief minister authorized ministers and senior administrative officials to take immediate action against officers found guilty of corruption, incompetence, or poor performance. He warned that no official would receive protection due to political influence, personal relationships, or favoritism.

Highlighting a results-oriented governance model, Afridi said government performance would no longer be judged by reports, presentations, WhatsApp updates, or social media activity. Instead, departments would be evaluated based on measurable improvements in public services, timely complaint resolution, accessibility of government services, and overall citizen satisfaction.

To strengthen public engagement, the chief minister directed every department to formulate a comprehensive communication strategy so citizens remain informed about government initiatives and available public services.

CM Afridi also instructed each provincial minister to visit at least seven districts every month, engage directly with local communities, inspect development projects, monitor service delivery, and address public concerns on the ground. Ministers have been directed to submit detailed district visit schedules to the Chief Minister’s Secretariat and the Chief Secretary’s Office.

Additionally, every government department has been ordered to establish a dedicated complaint cell linked with the Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell. Afridi said he would personally review complaints, departmental responses, and citizen feedback on a daily basis, warning that unnecessary delays in resolving public grievances would result in strict disciplinary action.

The chief minister further instructed departments to accelerate the implementation of development projects approved under the provincial budget and the Annual Development Programme (ADP), ensuring timely completion of schemes that directly benefit the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
