First Hajj Flight from Islamabad to Depart on April 19 with Special Ceremony

The first Hajj flight from Islamabad International Airport is scheduled to depart on April 19, 2026, marking the official start of the pilgrimage journey for thousands of pilgrims from the federal capital.

According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, a special ceremony will be held at the airport to formally see off the first group of intending pilgrims. This event will symbolize the beginning of this year’s Hajj travel operations from Islamabad.

The nationwide Hajj flight operation is set to begin on April 18, while Islamabad’s first departure will take place a day later. The capital’s launch is being considered a significant milestone, as large numbers of pilgrims will begin their journey to the holy cities of Saudi Arabia.

Officials have highlighted that pilgrims travelling from Islamabad will experience a modern and digitised travel system designed to streamline the process and enhance convenience. This initiative aims to improve efficiency and ensure a smoother departure experience for travellers.

Preparations at the airport are already underway to facilitate the first batch of pilgrims. The special send-off ceremony will serve as a formal farewell, adding a spiritual and ceremonial touch to the departure.

With the Hajj operation officially commencing, thousands of Pakistani pilgrims are preparing to embark on their sacred journey, marking an important moment in the country’s annual religious calendar.
