RAWALPINDI: A house servant arrested in the murder case of 45-year-old digital designer Hina Javed has allegedly confessed to the crime and provided investigators with details about the incident, according to police.
The development came as Rawalpindi Duty Judicial Magistrate Rana Shehbaz Khan granted police another three days of physical remand for Hina’s husband, Faisal Asghar, and their servant, Zeeshan. The court directed investigators to complete the investigation and submit the challan by August 28.
Police said DNA testing and special polygraph examinations of the two suspects have been completed, with results expected within two to three weeks. Investigators are also questioning Hina’s father-in-law, retired officer Asghar Fayyaz, who has joined the investigation but has not been arrested.
According to details presented before the court, investigators believe Hina was restrained and subjected to severe violence before her body was found hanging in a bathroom. The autopsy report reportedly showed serious injuries, including fractures to the bones of her neck.
Police have preserved key evidence, including the wire allegedly placed around her neck, the cloth reportedly used in her mouth and the rope used to restrain her hands. Hina’s clothing has also been sent for forensic examination for fingerprints and other evidence.
Hina’s lawyer Shah Khawar said he was satisfied with the progress of the investigation, while the victim’s family called for transparency and an impartial probe to establish the facts of the case.
