Karachi Continues Eid Cleanup Drive On Second Day Of Eid-ul-Adha

Karachi remained active with large-scale Eid-ul-Adha cleanup operations on the second day of Eid as citizens continued performing the Sunnah of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) through animal sacrifices across the city.

Alongside religious activities, sanitation teams from the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board carried out extensive cleaning operations in streets, neighbourhoods, residential areas and public spaces to collect animal waste and maintain cleanliness during Eid celebrations.

Authorities have also enforced Section 144 across Karachi to prevent citizens from dumping animal remains on roads, public places and open areas. Officials warned that strict legal action would be taken against anyone found violating sanitation rules or creating unhygienic conditions in the city.

According to officials, police and local administration teams launched crackdowns in multiple areas on the first day of Eid against individuals involved in improper disposal of animal waste and public sanitation violations.

The operation reportedly resulted in several arrests under Section 144 as authorities intensified efforts to ensure cleanliness and public hygiene during the Eid holidays.

Sanitation workers continued door-to-door waste collection while heavy machinery and cleaning teams remained deployed across various districts of Karachi to manage the large volume of sacrificial waste generated during Eid-ul-Adha.

City officials urged residents to cooperate with sanitation staff and follow official guidelines regarding waste disposal to help maintain a safe, clean and hygienic environment throughout the Eid holidays.

Authorities also appealed to citizens to avoid throwing animal remains into drains, roads or public areas, warning that such practices could create environmental and health hazards.

The ongoing cleanup campaign reflects broader efforts by local authorities to improve sanitation management and public hygiene during one of the busiest religious occasions in Pakistan.
