Pakistan’s security forces, along with law enforcement agencies, have killed 22 militants during an intelligence-based operation in Khyber district, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations.
The operation was conducted after receiving reports about the presence of militants in the area. According to officials, the suspects opened indiscriminate fire while attempting to escape, leading to an intense exchange. Tragically, a 10-year-old child was martyred during the incident, highlighting the human cost of ongoing counter-terrorism efforts.
Authorities confirmed that weapons and ammunition were recovered from the militants, who were allegedly involved in multiple terrorist activities. A follow-up sanitisation operation is currently underway to clear the area of any remaining threats.
