Lahore High Court acquits

Sargodha (Soon Times), in 2018, Muhammad Ashraf, a resident of Toba Tek Singh District Police Station, had registered a case against MudassarNaseer, FaizanArsalan and Noman for attempted murder of his son. In 2020, Judicial Magistrate District Toba Tek Singh sentenced the accused MudassarNaseer under Section 324 of the Pakistan Penal Code to 7 years hard labor and fine while honorably acquitting the other accomplices. MudassarNaseer filed an appeal against the decision, on which the Additional Sessions Judge upheld the sentence of Area Magistrate Toba Tek Singh. MudassarNaseer had filed a writ petition against the sentence in the Lahore High Court through Mrs. NailaMushtaqDhawan Advocate High Court. The Lahore High Court, while agreeing with the arguments of Mrs. NailaMushtaqDhawan Advocate High Court and keeping in view the precedent of the High Court, ordered her acquittal.
