Maryam Nawaz has undergone a major surgical procedure at Sharif Medical City Hospital and has since been shifted back home, according to Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb.
The update was shared by Aurangzeb through a post on social media platform X, where she confirmed that the surgery was successfully completed and that the chief minister was recovering at home.
According to the minister, despite being hospitalized during Eid-ul-Azha, Maryam Nawaz continued monitoring key provincial matters, including security arrangements, cleanliness operations, and other administrative affairs across Punjab.
The announcement prompted messages of support and prayers from several political leaders and government officials.
Shaza Fatima Khawaja expressed prayers for the chief minister’s health, well-being, and long life following the successful surgery.
Similarly, Ayaz Sadiq wished her a complete and speedy recovery, appreciating her dedication to public service and leadership during the recovery period.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) also shared a public message praying for Maryam Nawaz’s early recovery. The party praised her commitment to serving the people of Punjab and expressed hope that she would soon resume her responsibilities with the same energy and dedication.
No further details regarding the nature of the surgery were disclosed in the official statements.
The development comes as the Punjab government continues overseeing Eid-related security, sanitation, and public service operations across the province.
