PESHAWAR: A forensic medical examination has found evidence suggestive of recent sexual assault in connection with an alleged gang assault case reported in Garhi Moosa Khan, Peshawar.
The Department of Forensic Medicine at Khyber Medical College, Peshawar, submitted its medical examination report to police as part of the ongoing investigation. The report is dated September 9, 2026, while the female complainant reported the alleged incident on September 6 at around 2am in Mosam Khan Gauhr, Peshawar.
According to the report, the complainant told medical officials that three assailants were allegedly involved in the incident. The medical examination also documented physical injuries and laboratory findings that have been incorporated into the investigation.
A serology analysis report dated September 9 recorded a positive finding for human spermatozoa on the tested items. The report also documented a bruise measuring approximately 3×4 centimetres on the complainant’s right forearm, as well as an abrasion along the edge of her qameez.
Based on the forensic findings, the final medical opinion stated that the serology analysis was suggestive of recent sexual assault.
Police sources said the medical report has been added to the case file and will be considered alongside other evidence gathered during the investigation. Authorities have not publicly disclosed the identities of any suspects.
A senior police official said investigators were following due process and collecting additional evidence. The official added that action would be taken against anyone found involved on the basis of evidence.
The case has also drawn attention to the importance of timely forensic examinations, proper preservation of evidence and protection of survivors during investigations into sexual violence.
Legal and rights advocates have stressed the need for survivors to receive immediate medical care, legal assistance and protection from intimidation or pressure. Strong forensic procedures and trained investigators are also considered important for ensuring that evidence is properly documented and presented during legal proceedings.
The identity of the complainant has been withheld in accordance with journalistic standards for reporting sexual violence. Allegations against any individual remain subject to due process and determination by a competent court.
The investigation into the Garhi Moosa Khan case remains ongoing.
