Bugti, Fazlur Rehman Agree to Resolve Seminary Raids Issue Through Dialogue

Sarfraz Bugti and Maulana Fazlur Rehman have agreed to resolve ongoing concerns regarding seminary raids and registration issues in Balochistan through dialogue and mutual consultation.

The understanding was reached during a meeting held in Islamabad, where both leaders discussed recent tensions surrounding religious seminaries and explored ways to ease the situation through peaceful engagement.

The issue had gained attention after the provincial leadership of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) strongly reacted to actions involving seminaries and announced a protest campaign across Balochistan, including a planned shutter-down strike.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the broader political and law-and-order situation in the province. They exchanged views on maintaining stability, promoting tolerance, and addressing public concerns through cooperation.

According to official statements, both leaders agreed that all matters related to madrassas would be resolved through meaningful dialogue and mutual understanding rather than confrontation.

Chief Minister Bugti emphasised that the provincial government is committed to engaging with all political and religious stakeholders to ensure lasting peace in Balochistan. He highlighted the importance of political harmony and collaboration in addressing sensitive issues affecting society.

The discussion also covered wider administrative and political challenges in the province, reflecting a shared intention to strengthen coordination and avoid escalation of tensions.

This development comes at a crucial time, as both government and religious leadership seek to maintain balance, stability, and unity in Balochistan through dialogue-based solutions.
