Indian National Arrested in Rawalpindi During Crackdown on Illegal Foreigners

Police in Rawalpindi have arrested an Indian national during an ongoing crackdown on illegal foreigners, according to official reports.

The arrest was made in the Westridge area as part of a targeted operation aimed at identifying and detaining individuals residing in the country without valid documentation. The action was carried out by local police during routine patrol and checking activities.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), Sub-Inspector Rajab Ali was on duty near Choor Chowk when he noticed a suspicious individual approaching from Misrial Road. Upon seeing the police, the man reportedly attempted to avoid the officers, which led to his interception.

During questioning, the individual identified himself as Dilbar and stated that he was a resident of India. However, he failed to produce any valid visa or legal documents authorising his entry or stay in Pakistan.

Police conducted a search and recovered a few personal items, including ball pens, plain papers, and a small amount of cash. Following this, a case was registered against the suspect under relevant legal provisions.

Officials stated that the arrest is part of a broader operation targeting illegal foreign residents, including undocumented Afghan nationals, across different areas. Law enforcement agencies have intensified checks to ensure compliance with immigration laws and national security measures.

The case highlights ongoing efforts by authorities to monitor and regulate the presence of foreign nationals within the country. Further investigation is expected to determine how the individual entered Pakistan and whether others may be involved.
