The price of kerosene oil in Pakistan has increased by Rs17.35 per litre, pushing its price to Rs324.35 per litre under the latest petroleum price revision.
According to the revised rates, kerosene oil has risen from Rs307 to Rs324.35 per litre, increasing the cost for consumers and industries that rely on the petroleum product.
The price of light diesel oil (LDO) has also been increased. After an upward adjustment of Rs12.49 per litre, LDO is now priced at Rs279.55 per litre.
The revised petroleum prices came into effect from September 12 under the latest government notification. The increases are expected to add to fuel-related expenses for consumers and businesses using kerosene and light diesel oil.
Kerosene is used by households and in various commercial and industrial activities, while light diesel oil is used in certain sectors and machinery. The latest increases could therefore contribute to higher operating costs for affected users.
Meanwhile, the government has kept the price of jet fuel unchanged at Rs309.35 per litre. The unchanged rate means no increase has been applied to jet fuel under the latest petroleum price revision.
The latest adjustments come amid continued pressure on petroleum prices and rising concerns over the impact of fuel costs on consumers and the wider economy.
