Man Seriously Injured in Shooting Attack in Karachi’s Orangi Town

KARACHI: A man sustained serious gunshot wounds after an unidentified attacker opened fire on him in Orangi Town, Karachi, police said on Tuesday.

The incident took place in Sector 11½, Sindhi Goth, where the victim, identified as Yasir, had arrived from Garden, where he lives.

According to police, Yasir parked his car and walked into a nearby street when an unidentified gunman suddenly opened fire on him. The attacker fled the scene immediately after the shooting.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and police have launched an investigation to determine who targeted Yasir and why.

Police said Yasir told investigators that someone had lured him to the area under false pretences. This has raised the possibility that the shooting may have been planned in advance.

Following the incident, Rescue officials and local residents rushed the injured man to a private hospital on Stadium Road, where doctors are treating him for serious gunshot wounds.

Police investigators have started collecting evidence from the crime scene and are working to identify the attacker. Officials are also examining the circumstances that brought the victim to the area.

Investigators are looking into whether Yasir had any previous dispute with someone or had received threats before the shooting.

The incident has raised further concerns about targeted violence and security in parts of Karachi. Police are expected to gather additional evidence and statements as the investigation progresses.

Authorities have not yet announced any arrests in connection with the shooting, while the motive behind the attack remains under investigation.
