Pakistan Eliminates 29 Terrorists in Major Counterterrorism Operations Under Operation Ghazb Lil Haq

Pakistan’s security forces have intensified nationwide counterterrorism efforts after a series of militant attacks in different parts of the country. In a major security operation conducted under Operation Ghazb Lil Haq, officials confirmed that 29 terrorists were eliminated during intelligence-based actions targeting militant hideouts near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

According to security sources, an intelligence-based operation was launched in Bajaur district on June 28, 2026, where troops engaged militants in a coordinated assault. Four terrorists, including a senior commander identified as Khan Farosh alias Zabal, were killed during the operation. Several other militants reportedly sustained injuries and fled toward nearby border areas.

As part of the ongoing campaign, Pakistan’s armed forces carried out precision strikes during the night of June 28–29 against militant compounds located in areas adjacent to Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar. Officials stated that the strikes successfully destroyed three major terrorist hideouts and eliminated 25 additional militants linked to Jamaat-ul-Ahrar and Fitna al Khwarij.

Security officials said the targeted compounds were being used as training facilities, operational bases, and weapons storage sites. Large quantities of arms, ammunition, and logistical supplies were also destroyed during the operation, significantly weakening the militants’ operational capabilities.

The latest operations come after recent terrorist attacks targeting civilians in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and a Pakistan Rangers facility in Karachi. Authorities said the intelligence-based actions were launched to dismantle networks responsible for planning and facilitating attacks against Pakistan.

Officials reaffirmed that Pakistan remains committed to safeguarding its citizens and maintaining regional peace while continuing decisive action against terrorism. The operations are part of the country’s broader Azm-e-Istehkam strategy, which aims to eliminate militant threats through intelligence-driven operations and enhanced border security.

Security forces continue search and clearance operations in affected areas to ensure that remaining militant elements are neutralized. Authorities have also reiterated that Pakistan will continue working to strengthen national security and prevent cross-border terrorism through coordinated military and intelligence efforts.
