Senior military commanders from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye have reaffirmed their commitment to collective defence under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement during a high-level meeting in Riyadh.
The meeting brought together the Chiefs of Defence Forces and Chiefs of General Staff of the countries participating in the agreement. The military leadership reviewed the regional security situation and discussed threats facing Saudi Arabia, with particular attention to attacks targeting Makkah and civilian and economic infrastructure.
The commanders strongly condemned such attacks and expressed appreciation for the vigilance and professionalism of the Saudi Armed Forces in protecting the people and maintaining the security of the Kingdom.
During the meeting, the three countries also discussed ways to further strengthen military cooperation. Intelligence sharing, military coordination and greater integration of defence capabilities were identified as key areas for expanding cooperation and improving collective deterrence.
The participants highlighted the longstanding relations and mutual trust between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye and their respective armed forces. They said the Riyadh meeting reflected the strength of the defence partnership between the three countries.
The military leaders also expressed their determination to implement the commitments made under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement through practical military cooperation without delay.
They reaffirmed their collective defence commitment and their resolve to support the security, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia amid the evolving regional security situation.
