The government has reduced the prices of petroleum products in Pakistan, bringing some relief to consumers as the revised rates take effect from September 23.
According to the government notification, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs1.70 per litre. Following the adjustment, petrol will now be available at Rs392.05 per litre across the country.
The price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has also been reduced. The government cut the diesel price by Rs3.12 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs418.96 per litre.
The revised petroleum prices are applicable from September 23, according to the notification issued by the government.
The latest adjustment comes as the government continues to review petroleum prices in response to changes in international oil prices and other relevant factors. Petrol and diesel prices are regularly adjusted to reflect developments in the global oil market and domestic pricing considerations.
The reduction in petrol and diesel prices will affect transportation and other sectors that rely heavily on petroleum products. Diesel prices in particular have a direct impact on freight, public transport and the movement of goods across the country.
Consumers will now pay Rs392.05 per litre for petrol and Rs418.96 per litre for high-speed diesel under the latest government notification.
