The Sindh government has announced the expansion of its free Pink Scooty scheme to Hyderabad after its successful rollout in Sukkur. The initiative, introduced under the leadership of Sharjeel Inam Memon, aims to improve women’s mobility and promote independence across the province.
The Pink Scooty scheme is designed to provide women with free scooters along with driving licences, helmets, and proper training to ensure safe commuting. The programme focuses on empowering women by making daily travel easier, especially for students and working professionals who face transportation challenges.
In addition to the scooty scheme, the Sindh government is also expanding the People’s Bus Service network. New routes are being introduced in Khairpur, including Khairpur to Rohri and Khairpur to Ranipur. Plans are also underway to launch bus services in Hyderabad, covering routes such as Kohsar to Hyder Chowk and Hyderabad to Tando Allahyar.
Officials say these initiatives are part of a broader effort to provide affordable, reliable, and comfortable transportation options for the public. The government is particularly focusing on women, youth, and working-class citizens to improve access to education, employment, and daily commuting.
The expansion of the Pink Scooty scheme reflects Sindh’s commitment to women empowerment and modern transport solutions, aiming to create a more inclusive and accessible mobility system across the province.
