Federal Investigation Agency Arrests 34 Undocumented Afghan Nationals in Balochistan

The Federal Investigation Agency has arrested 34 undocumented Afghan nationals in Balochistan as part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal migration and human smuggling.

According to officials, the arrests were carried out by the FIA’s Turbat wing during a targeted operation in the CPEC road area after receiving a tip-off. The group, which included men, women, and children, was reportedly travelling towards Gwadar.

Authorities stated that the individuals had entered Pakistan without valid documentation and were allegedly attempting to reach Iran through the Gwadar route. The operation reflects continued enforcement actions against undocumented cross-border movement in the region.

An FIA spokesperson confirmed that a case has been registered against the detained individuals, and investigations are currently underway. Officials are working to identify facilitators and networks that may have assisted in the illegal movement.

The agency emphasized its commitment to taking strict legal action against human traffickers and those involved in unlawful migration activities. This includes tracking organised networks that exploit vulnerable individuals for cross-border transit.

While further details about the identities of those arrested have not been disclosed, authorities indicated that the investigation would focus on uncovering the broader system behind such movements.

The arrests highlight ongoing concerns related to border security and illegal migration routes, particularly in regions connected to major transit corridors like Gwadar.
