PM Shehbaz Directs Pakistani Embassies to Expand Overseas Job Opportunities

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed all Pakistani embassies and diplomatic missions abroad to play a more proactive role in creating overseas employment opportunities for skilled Pakistani workers as part of the government’s broader strategy to boost exports of skilled manpower and increase remittances.

Chairing a high-level meeting on youth employment, the prime minister said Pakistan possesses a talented and capable workforce that can successfully compete in international labour markets when equipped with the necessary technical skills, professional training, and certifications.

He emphasized that expanding overseas employment opportunities would not only improve the livelihoods of Pakistani workers and their families but also strengthen the national economy by increasing foreign remittances and enhancing Pakistan’s global workforce presence.

Prime Minister Shehbaz instructed all Pakistani embassies and diplomatic missions to regularly identify employment opportunities in their respective host countries and share complete information regarding available vacancies, qualification requirements, professional skills, visa procedures, and recruitment processes. He said timely and accurate information would enable Pakistani workers to better prepare for international employment opportunities.

The prime minister also directed the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis, the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), and the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme to work in close coordination to improve the employability of young Pakistanis.

He instructed the relevant institutions to expand vocational training, technical education, foreign language courses, and internationally recognized certifications to ensure that Pakistani workers meet the evolving requirements of global labour markets.

According to the prime minister, the government remains committed to investing in education, skills development, and workforce training to produce highly qualified professionals capable of securing quality employment opportunities around the world.
