Two Terrorists Killed in Intelligence-Based Operation in Dera Ismail Khan: ISPR

Pakistan’s security forces successfully eliminated two terrorists during an intelligence-based operation conducted in the Garah Madah area of Daraban tehsil in Dera Ismail Khan, according to an official statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The operation was launched after security agencies received credible intelligence reports regarding the presence of militants hiding in the area. Acting swiftly on the information, security personnel moved into the region and engaged the suspected terrorists in a targeted operation.

According to the ISPR, the troops effectively confronted the militants during the intelligence-based action. Following an exchange of fire, two terrorists were killed by security forces.

The military’s media wing stated that a search and clearance operation was immediately initiated after the successful action to identify and eliminate any remaining terrorists who might still be present in the vicinity.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of the slain militants. Investigations are expected to continue as law enforcement agencies assess whether the individuals were linked to broader militant networks operating in the region.

Dera Ismail Khan has remained one of the districts frequently affected by security challenges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to its geographical proximity to former tribal areas that have historically witnessed militant activity.

Security forces continue to conduct intelligence-based operations across sensitive regions of the country to prevent terrorist attacks and dismantle militant infrastructure before threats can materialise.

The ISPR reiterated the military’s unwavering commitment to eliminating terrorism and maintaining peace and stability throughout Pakistan. It emphasized that operations against militants will continue until all threats to national security are neutralised.

Intelligence-led operations have become a crucial component of Pakistan’s counterterrorism strategy, enabling security agencies to act on specific information and target militants with greater precision while minimising risks to civilians.

Officials maintain that the cooperation between intelligence agencies, law enforcement institutions, and security forces has significantly strengthened Pakistan’s ability to counter emerging threats and protect local communities.

The latest operation in Daraban reflects the continued efforts of Pakistan’s security institutions to ensure that terrorist elements are denied safe havens and that peace is restored in affected areas.

As the search and clearance activities continue, authorities remain vigilant and reaffirm that protecting citizens and safeguarding national security remain top priorities.
