Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi departed for Moscow after making his second visit to Islamabad within two days, highlighting the fast-paced diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the ongoing US-Iran conflict. The back-to-back visits, along with consultations in Oman, reflect increasing regional momentum to prevent further escalation and revive negotiations between Tehran and Washington.
During his brief stay in Pakistan, Araghchi held discussions with senior civil and military leadership, focusing on key issues such as the Strait of Hormuz, naval blockade, and compensation for wartime losses. Pakistan has emerged as a central mediator, actively working to bring both sides back to the negotiating table.
Iranian officials emphasized that the ongoing talks are strictly related to ending the war and regional stability, not linked to nuclear negotiations. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump stated that Iran could initiate talks if it wished, though he expressed dissatisfaction with Tehran’s current proposals.
Araghchi is expected to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow to further discuss ceasefire developments and diplomatic solutions. The continued shuttle diplomacy signals growing international efforts to establish long-term peace and stability in the region.
