LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has hailed Pakistan’s historic success in Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, stating that the nation firmly defended its “red line” against all challenges.
Addressing the Marka-e-Haq Solidarity Ceremony at the iconic Wagah Border, she emphasized that Pakistan’s strength lies not only in its borders but also in the unity and determination of its people.
Maryam Nawaz said the entire nation stood united like a “wall of strength” alongside its armed forces. She paid heartfelt tribute to the martyrs, acknowledging their sacrifices in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and security.
She also honoured the families of martyrs, particularly mothers, wives, and children, for their patience and courage. “Their sacrifices will always remain a source of pride for the nation,” she added.
The chief minister praised the leadership of Nawaz Sharif for strengthening Pakistan’s defence capabilities, including making the country a nuclear power and supporting indigenous defence projects like the JF-17 Thunder aircraft.
She further commended Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for improving Pakistan’s economic stability and global standing, while also lauding Asim Munir for his decisive leadership during challenging times.
Maryam Nawaz highlighted that Pakistan not only achieved military success but also secured a diplomatic victory on the global stage, reinforcing its image as a responsible and strong nation.
The ceremony witnessed high patriotic spirit, with citizens gathering in large numbers, chanting slogans and participating in national celebrations. The chief minister laid a floral wreath at the martyrs’ memorial and attended the traditional flag-lowering ceremony performed by Pakistan Rangers.
The event concluded with renewed prayers for Pakistan’s prosperity, stability, and continued strength of its armed forces.
