Fazlur Rehman urges dialogue to ease Kashmir tensions, calls for restraint

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has called for resolving the ongoing tensions in Kashmir through dialogue, urging all parties to exercise patience and avoid any actions that could escalate the situation or lead to violence.

In a message addressed to the banned Awami Action Committee, Fazlur Rehman appealed for restraint, stressing that disputes should be settled through negotiations rather than confrontation. He said peaceful engagement remains the most effective path toward a lasting and sustainable solution.

The JUI chief stated that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is actively working to help resolve the situation. According to Fazlur Rehman, Bilawal is in contact with the government and is making efforts to facilitate meaningful discussions among all stakeholders. He urged the committee to allow time for these diplomatic and political efforts to continue.

Fazlur Rehman said Bilawal is committed to preventing bloodshed and maintaining peace. He added that political leaders must work together to avoid unrest and ensure the protection of innocent lives.

He emphasized that political wisdom should prevail over confrontation and urged all sides to avoid steps that could deepen tensions or make reconciliation more difficult.

Highlighting the importance of public confidence, Fazlur Rehman said stronger trust between the people of Pakistan and the people of Kashmir can only be built through peaceful engagement, mutual understanding, and constructive dialogue.

He concluded by saying that lasting peace can only be achieved through consultation, cooperation, and democratic means, urging all concerned parties to prioritize dialogue over conflict.
