Maryam Nawaz Welcomes Dr Hasnat Khan to Lead Jinnah Institute of Cardiology

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has welcomed the return of renowned cardiologist Dr Hasnat Khan, who has taken charge as the head of the Jinnah Institute of Cardiology.

During a meeting, the chief minister praised Dr Khan’s decision to return from England to serve patients in Pakistan, calling it a commendable act of dedication and public service. She emphasized that the provincial government is committed to transforming the institute into a state-of-the-art medical facility equipped with modern healthcare technologies.

Maryam Nawaz highlighted the importance of providing high-quality treatment for heart diseases across the country, especially for underprivileged communities. She also expressed the government’s broader vision of making Punjab a global hub for medical tourism by improving healthcare standards and infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Khawaja Salman Rafique stated that Dr Khan’s appointment was made in accordance with official procedures and based on recommendations from the institute’s board of directors. He added that the government aims to bring cardiac care services in line with international standards.
