Pakistan has rejected allegations by Indian Home Minister Amit Shah linking Islamabad to the arrest of alleged terror suspects in India, describing the claims as part of a politically motivated campaign against Pakistan.
Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi said the allegations were baseless and appeared intended to divert attention from India’s own internal security challenges. He accused New Delhi of repeatedly using anti-Pakistan rhetoric for domestic political purposes.
The remarks followed claims by Amit Shah that Indian security agencies had arrested more than 200 suspected militants allegedly connected to Pakistan during a nationwide crackdown across 14 states on August 12. Shah claimed the arrests had prevented planned attacks.
Pakistan rejected the allegations and maintained that Islamabad has repeatedly been blamed by Indian authorities without what it considers credible evidence. Andrabi said such accusations were part of an ongoing attempt to portray Pakistan as responsible for security problems inside India.
The Pakistani spokesperson also levelled counter-allegations against India, accusing New Delhi of suppressing minorities and dissent while alleging Indian involvement in destabilising activities abroad. These claims represent Pakistan’s official position and remain disputed by India.
Pakistan also criticised an Indian documentary about the 2025 military confrontation, arguing that it presented a selective and politically motivated account of Operation Sindoor. Islamabad said the production relied on edited interviews, emotional narration and cinematic reconstructions rather than an objective assessment of the conflict.
Pakistan disputed India’s portrayal of the confrontation as an unequivocal military victory and highlighted what it described as significant exchanges between the two countries’ armed forces.
Islamabad also questioned the chronology surrounding the Pahalgam attack and the subsequent military operation, arguing that the timeline raised questions about some of India’s stated justifications for the May 7, 2025 operation.
Pakistan further maintained that its armed forces effectively responded during the confrontation and said subsequent military and diplomatic developments demonstrated the complexity of the conflict.
The dispute comes amid continued tensions between Pakistan and India, with both sides maintaining sharply different accounts of security incidents and the 2025 military confrontation.
Pakistan reiterated its stated commitment to regional peace and stability while warning that its armed forces remain prepared to defend the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
